The project
Overview
Manually switching between different currencies to mine, whether
that is to take advantage of low difficulty or to expand your
portfolio, is a tedious, ongoing, task. Because of that, I
created MiningHQ — the easiest way to mine
cryptocurrencies.
Description
MiningHQ essentially created and managed your own personal
mining cluster. It took care of installing and updating mining
software, checking for errors during mining, and automating the
mining process of your selected coins based on a predefined
strategy chosen by you.
To get started, you registered on MiningHQ, downloaded the
installer for each of your rigs which registered that miner with
your account. Once you had at least one rig, you were ready to
mine.
After installation, you could control all your mining from the
convenient web interface. The interface allowed changing of
mining strategies, monitoring performance over time, pausing
mining during peak hours to save electricity, and much more. The
project was tested and used by a few users during its lifetime.
I used it for over a year to mine at least 10 different
currencies.
